Attire
We ask that you wear cocktail attire or if you are feeling adventurous you may wear your tartans. We are not asking you to wear any specific colors, just have fun! It will be rather warm and the event is outside. Please dress accordingly.
Cocktail Attire
What qualifies as cocktail attire you ask?
Cocktail attire is a balance between formal and casual, elegant and comfortable. To an event with this dress code, men typically wear a suit and tie while women wear a cocktail dress.
We are not requiring men to wear jackets, but please no jeans.
Ladies, please keep in mind this venue is outdoors; highly recommend comfortable shoes and to opt for light and airy fabrics such as chiffon, linen, or organza. A floral maxi dress, a pastel midi or knee-length dress, as well as a jumpsuit are all acceptable as well.
Tartans
What is a Tartan?
A Tartan is a plaid textile design of Scottish origin consisting of stripes of varying width and color usually patterned to designate a distinctive clan.
I'm not Scottish but would like to wear a kilt/sash, may I?
Yes, that is totally acceptable and in fact is encouraged! There are plaids that anyone of any origin can wear (but really though there will not be a plaid police, and we just want you to have fun)
Black Watch and Caledonia are the two major textiles anyone may wear, but there is also official plaids out there for cities and even states of origin.
